Where it started
A German online retailer on WooCommerce, selling in a category where paid search and social ads are restricted. The usual growth lever didn't exist. Email marketing had started three months before Timo took on the role in Q2 2024.
Demand: growth from what the shop owns

- ROLE
- E-commerce lead
- SINCE
- Q2 2024
What was built
- Search architecture. 40+ category pages and 300+ product pages rewritten to be found.
- A shorter checkout. About half the steps it had before.
- An email lifecycle, built from scratch, with automated flows.
- A four-tier loyalty programme.
- Bundles that raise the size of an order.
What it left the shop with
Category and product pages built to be found, a shorter checkout, an email lifecycle and a loyalty programme. Growth came without paid search or social ads, from pages, a checkout, emails and a loyalty programme the shop keeps.
Operations: the stock and warehouse system the shop runs on
- LED BY
- Giovanni Orzes
- ROLE
- Technical lead
- YEAR
- 2025
The shop runs on StockZen, a stock and warehouse system Giovanni built in 2025 for the company behind it. Orders arrive from WooCommerce and Shopify. Before, stock lived in spreadsheets, the warehouse worked from printed order lists, and every shipping label was made by hand.
What was built
- Stock in sync. Products, orders and stock levels sync in real time between WooCommerce, Shopify and the warehouse.
- Picking, rebuilt in ten days. A picking and packing interface for several workstations, with barcode scanning and batch picking.
- Shipping labels, automated. Created from the order data through DHL and printed at the packing stations.
- Reordering, automated. A 45-minute manual reorder routine replaced with an automated one, with low-stock alerts.
- Reports on order patterns, stock turnover and demand, for the whole team.
Where it stands
113,711 orders had gone through it by September 2026. New channels, carriers and workstations are added to the same system, not rebuilt around it.
How we work in regulated categories
Only compliant routes to growth. In a regulated category, no other kind is worth having.
What this means for you
This is the kind of role Compound Growth offers: a Head of E-Commerce accountable for the whole channel, with a CTO next to it, working in your accounts.
